I licensed my first designs in 2013. Instead of it being the start of a brilliant licensing career I ended up getting my products manufactured and selling to shops and craft markets.

The mistake I made back then was sending an email to a company and NEVER contacting them again! Rookie mistake!

Although I contacted many different companies back then, the secret is to keep contacting them on a regular basis. At the time, I didn’t know this and I gave up. I was also clueless in general about art licensing – my work wasn’t organised and it would take me forever to send an email, etc.

After restarting my art licensing journey in 2020 with a greater knowledge of the industry, a more organised portfolio and a steel-eyed determination, I have licensed & sold almost 20 designs since then!
